Wizz Air New Hand Luggage Allowance
Friday, 12 Oct 2018
Wizz Air has announced changes to its hand luggage allowance that mirror those made by Ryanair at the end of August. Currently, all Wizz Air passengers may bring a small personal item on board measuring 40 x 30 x 18 cm. Priority passengers may also bring a larger item on board with dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23 cm. Non-Priority passengers may check their larger item into the hold for free.
As of 1st November, 2018, however, the only piece of hand luggage allowed on board for free will be a small personal item. Passengers must purchase Priority Boarding if they want to bring a larger trolley bag on board with them. No longer will non-Priority customers be able to check a larger bag for free. Instead, they must pay a fee, starting at €7.
The size of the small personal item has been increased slightly from 40 x 30 x 18 cm to 40 x 30 x 20 cm. Nonetheless, Wizz Air passengers will be greatly restricted in terms of what they can bring on board, without paying extra. Customers must either pay for Priority Boarding at €5 - €12 or at least €7 to check a small 10 kg bag.
