U.S. Citizens Are Advised to Return Home As Soon As Possible

The Department of State have warned U.S citizens against relying on the American government for assistance whilst they are abroad and to return to the United States as soon as they can.
A State Department official has expressed concern over this advisory, pointing to the limited availability of flights as countries across the globe are enforcing strict travel restrictions, closing borders and implementing lockdowns. With many U.S. citizens already stranded abroad, pleads are being made to the State Department to take action in facilitating the return of Americans who require further assistance.
Amidst growing threats of the COVID-19 virus, many countries are advising their citizens to return home. The Department of Foreign Affairs in Australia recently urged Australian citizens to return home as soon as possible.
