Tuition- Free Universities
Tuition fees were eliminated in Germany in 2014 at all public universities in the country. Although some states have since re-introduced tuition fees for non-EU students, there are still tuition free universities in Germany that are popular choices for international students. Some of these include Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Humbolt University of Berlin, University of Gottingen, University of Hamburg, and University of Stuttgart. There are some universities in Germany that charge a mandatory tuition fee for international students, but they are quite low.
Top Universities
There are many top universities for studying abroad in Germany, as 48 universities located within Germany are among the best in the world, ranking in Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings 2020. Eight of which are in the global top 100, including Humbolt University of Berlin, LMU Munich, Technical University of Berlin, and Heidelberg University. German universities have also been ranked highly for graduate employability, with four coming in the global top 100 of the 2020 QS Graduate Employability Rankings.
