COVID-19 World Travel Guide: Travel Bans and Restrictions

The coronavirus pandemic caused many countries to introduce social distancing measures and self-isolation guidelines. Now many countries and airlines worldwide have been forced to introduce travel restrictions to contain the spread of the virus and safeguard citizens. We’ve researched the current travel bans in place around the world due to COVID-19 and it’s clear to see just how heavily the travel industry has been impacted.

Afghanistan

Limited domestic flights are operating. All commercial passenger flights in /out of Afghanistan are suspended until further notice.

The border with Pakistan was previously closed, however, temporarily re-opened on 6^th April to allow for Afghan nationals to cross from Pakistan to Afghanistan.

Since 28^th March, the province of Kabul has restrictions in place which prohibits travel to and from Kabul to other provinces. These restrictions are currently in place until 18^th April, however, may be extended.

Algeria

All international flights to and from Algeria have been suspended since 19^th March. All land borders are closed, and ferry services are suspended.

Andorra

Flights are still operating to and from Andorra, however, may be operating at a limited capacity.

American Samoa

All non-US passport holders are required to spend at least 14-days in Hawaii, Samoa (Apia) or Tonga prior to entering American Samoa.

Angola

All international flights in and out of Angola are currently suspended until further notice. The restriction has been in place since 20^th March.

Entry to the country will not be permitted to those who have visited China, South Korea, Iran, France, Spain, Portugal or Italy since December unless:

• you are an Angolan national
• you are an expatriate that normally resides in Angola

If you are a returning resident and have been to China, South Korea, Iran, France, Spain, Portugal or Italy, you will be placed in quarantine for 14-days on arrival.

Anguilla

All ports of entry to Anguilla for passengers are closed until 21^st April.

Antigua and Barbuda

VC Bird international airport in Antigua and Barbuda is currently closed to international commercial passenger flights from North America and all countries within Europe until 10^th April. To allow for foreign nationals to return home, flights from these countries are still allowed to enter provided they hold no passengers.

All international maritime arrivals must enter via Nevis Street Pier in St John’s. All ports on the island of Barbuda are closed until 07/04/2020.

From 26^th March until further notice, entry will not be permitted to any non-Antigua and Barbuda national if they have travelled to Canada, China, any Country in Europe, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Singapore or the USA within the last 28 days.

Argentina

Entry to Argentina is currently only permitted for Argentine Nationals and residents within Argentina. A border closure is in place until 12^th April prohibiting entry for all foreign nationals and non-residents.

Borders remain open to those departing Argentina; however, flight options are extremely limited.

Armenia

Entry to Armenia will not be permitted to those who have travelled from or via countries with outbreaks of COVID-19 within 14 days of arrival.

Any traveller who does not fall within the category above, and is permitted entry, will be subject to health screening and may be subject to quarantine or self-isolation.

Land borders between Georgia and Iran are closed to non-returning citizens.

Limited commercial flights are available out of the country.

Australia

Entry is only permitted to Australian citizens, returning permanent residents and their immediate family members.

All travellers entering Australia will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine at a government designated facility.

Australian citizens and permanent residents are restricted from travelling overseas from Australia.

Austria

Limited commercial flight options are available.

Any passenger entering Austria from Germany, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Switzerland or has been in any country with travel warning in place due to COVID-19 will not be permitted entry unless a medical certificate is provided confirming that they are not infected with coronavirus. The medical certificate must be no more than 4 days old.

Travel through Austria is possible as long as no stops are made in the country.

Azerbaijan

All flights to and from Azerbaijan are suspended until 20^th April.

Bahamas

Airports are closed to all incoming flight to the Bahamas. Outbound flights are permitted; however, available options are limited, and future flights are not guaranteed.

Bahrain

Entry will not be permitted to Bahrain unless you are a Bahraini citizen or resident.

It is possible to depart the country; however, options are limited.

Bangladesh

Any passenger who has visited the EU or Iran since March 1^st will be denied entry to Bangladesh until 15^th April.

A limited number of international commercial flights are available to select countries; however, airline restrictions may apply.

All foreign nationals are required to provide a medical certificate confirming they are symptom free.

All arrivals from coronavirus infected countries will be subject to a 14-day quarantine (either self-isolation or within a government facility).

Barbados

A number of airlines have suspended services to and from Barbados. Commercial flight options are extremely limited.

All passengers arriving in Barbados will be placed into a government quarantine facility for 14 days.

Belgium

Entry and exit checks are currently in place. All Non-essential travel is prohibited, travellers will not be permitted entry unless they hold a Belgian ID or residence card or a letter from their employer proving that travel is essential.

It is still possible to transit through Belgium with valid ID and proof of residence for the destination country as well as proof of onward travel. Commercial flight options are still available from Belgium.

All arriving passengers who are not transiting through Belgium must self-isolate at home following arrival.

Belize

A state of emergency has been in place since 1^st April and will be reviewed on 1^st May. All borders were closed on 21^st March and international flights to/from Belize are currently suspended. It is not possible to exit Belize; this will be reviewed on 20^th April.

Benin

Entry visas have been restricted since 19^th March. Entry and exit at border crossings will only be permitted for “extreme necessity”. The land border with Togo is closed.

It is still possible to travel out of Benin on a commercial flight; however, normal services are reduced.

Bermuda

All flights in and out of Bermuda have been suspended since 20^th March. This was initially for 2 weeks; however, the restriction still appears to be in place.

Bhutan

Entry to Bhutan is not permitted to foreign tourists. This restriction has been in place since 6^th March.

Bolivia

All international flights to and from Bolivia are suspended and land borders are also closed. This restriction will remain in place until 15^th April.

Botswana

No commercial flights are available to or from Botswana. Land borders have also been closed with all neighbouring countries, however, citizens and returning residents will be permitted entry subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine in a government facility.

Brazil

Until 29^th April, entry will not be permitted to foreign passengers travelling by air unless:

• they are a resident in Brazil
• they are a spouse, child, parent or guardian or a Brazilian national
• they are transiting to another country and are not leaving the airport
• they are airline crew

Land borders are also closed to anyone other than:

• returning citizens and residents
• foreigners who need to cross the land border to fly to their home country

Commercial outbound flights to return to your country of residence are available; however, options are extremely limited.

British Virgin Islands

Commercial travel options are still available both to and from British Virgin Islands.

Brunei

Entry will not be permitted into Brunei to non-Bruneians travelling from the UK, any European country, Iran or China (Hubei, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces).

Arrivals from all other countries will be subject to a 14-day quarantine at a government facility.

An exit travel ban is also in place for citizens, permanent residents, expats and their dependents.

Limited commercial flight options to depart Brunei are ongoing.

Bulgaria

Entry will not be permitted to Bulgaria unless:

• you are a citizen
• you hold permanent or long-term residence
• you are a citizen of an EU member state or Schengen country and are transiting through Bulgaria to return to your country of residence.

The majority of land borders are closed for all passengers.

Commercial flight options are still available out of Bulgaria.

Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou International Airport and Bobo-Dioulasso Airport are both closed for international commercial flights to and from Burkina Faso until 21^st April.

Land borders and international rail services are closed until 21^st April.

Burundi

Burundi authorities have announced that commercial passenger flights in and out of Bujumbura International Airport are suspended until further notice.

Cambodia

Entry to Cambodia will not be permitted to foreign nationals arriving from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the USA and Iran.

Some commercial flights out of Cambodia are available although options are limited.

Cameroon

All land, sea and air borders in Cameroon have been closed since 18^th March and will remain closed until further notice.

Canada

Entry will not be permitted into Canada to most foreign nationals. Entry is still possible for Canadian Citizens and permanent residents.

Commercial passenger flights are still available out of Canada.

Cape Verde

All land and sea borders are close and internal flights have been stopped between the islands. There are no commercial flights out of Cape Verde.

There are limited European Repatriation flights available.

Cayman Islands

All inbound and outbound passenger flights from and to the Cayman Islands

 are currently suspended until 12^th April.

Central African Republic

Inbound passenger flights in the Central African Republic are still operating, however, arrivals will be subject to a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine if they are travelling from a location affected by COVID-19. Further travel restrictions may be put into place without notice.

Flights out of the country are still possible although are extremely limited.

Chad

All airports in Chad are closed for inbound and outbound passenger flights until 10^th April.

Chile

Entry will not be permitted for non-Chileans unless they have a valid residency visa for Chile. This restriction has been in place since 18^th March.

All ports have been closed to cruise liners since 15^th March.

It is still possible to leave the country via commercial passenger flights, however, services and available flights are limited or reduced.

China

Entry will only be permitted to foreign nationals (including transiting passengers) who hold visas issued prior to 27^th March unless they hold a diplomatic, service, courtesy or C visa.

All international flights to Beijing will be diverted to one of 12 airports in Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Shanghai Pudong, Jinan, Qingdao, Nanjing, Shenyang, Dalian, Zhengzhou and Xi’an.

Passengers will need to pass health checks before being permitted entry and will be subject to quarantine if they fail the health check or were seated in the vicinity of another passenger who fails. If health checks are not passed, a 14-day quarantine will be required.

Health check requirements are changing continuously for arrivals.

Many airlines have already suspended flights to and from China. Chinese authorities have also requested further reductions on international flights.

Colombia

All land and sea borders are closed. Airports within Colombia closed to provisionally to all international passengers on 23^rd March for 30 days. This will be reviewed on 22nd April.

Comoros

All international flights are suspended from and to Comorros until further notice. Ports are closed to travellers from affected countries.

Congo

All land, air and maritime borders are closed until further notice. No passenger flights are available in or out of the Republic of Congo.

Democratic Republic of The Congo

The Democratic Republic of The Congo has suspended all international flights in and out of the country until further notice. Land and maritime borders are also closed.

Cook Islands

All passengers will be required to self-isolate for 14 days in New Zealand prior to travelling to the Cook Islands. This requirement will be in place until 18^th April.

It is still possible to exit the Cook Islands via commercial passenger flights.

Costa Rica

From 18^th March – 12^th April, entry will only be permitted to Costa Rica for Costa Rican citizens and legal residents. All arrivals will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.

Some repatriation flights are available out of the country.

Côte d'Ivoire

All international flights to and from Côte d'Ivoire are suspended until further notice.

Croatia

Entry will not be permitted to Croatia for foreign nationals unless they hold a valid residence permit. Those permitted entry will be required to self-isolate for 14 days if arriving from the UK and a number of other European countries. These restrictions are in place until 18^th April. Land borders are also closed until 18^th April.

It is still possible to exit the country; however, Dubrovnik International Airport is closed and services from other airports may be reduced or limited.

Cyprus

Entry will not be permitted to Cyprus to non-Cypriots until 11^th April. Cypriots and legal residents may still enter will be subject to a 14-day quarantine in a state facility on arrival.

Commercial passenger flights out of the country are extremely limited.

Czech Republic

Entry is only permitted to those that hold Czech residency. A mandatory self-isolation period is required for passengers entering the Czech Republic from a high-risk country.

Foreign nationals are allowed to leave the country but may not be allowed to re-enter. Czech nationals are not permitted to leave the country unless they can prove residency in another country.

It is still possible to exit the country via Prague Airport, although flights are being cancelled regularly.

Denmark

The Danish border is closed to those who do not have a valid reason for entering Denmark. Residents and those transiting through Denmark to return to their home country will be permitted entry. All arrivals into Denmark are requested to self-isolate for 14 days.

Commercial flight options are still available to exit the country, however, are limited.

Djibouti

All internationals passenger flights in and out of Djibouti are suspended until further notice. Land borders are also closed.

Dominica

All international passenger flights in and out of Dominica are suspended as the airports are now closed until 20th April.

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic government have closed all borders and suspended all international flights with the exception of a limited number of repatriation flights are available to foreign nationals.

The borders will remain closed until 18^th April.

Ecuador

All international and domestic passenger flights in and out of Ecuador are suspended until the end of April. Land borders are also closed.

Egypt

All international flights in and out of Egypt are suspended until 15^th April.

El Salvador

All international flights to and from El Salvador are suspended until at least 19^th April.

It is not possible to exit the country at present.

Equatorial Guinea

All international flights to and from Equatorial Guinea are suspended until further notice. Land and sea borders are also closed.

Eritrea

All international flights to and from Eritrea are suspended until further notice.

Estonia

Entry will only be permitted to Estonian nationals, Estonian Residence Permit holders and foreign nationals with family members in Estonia. All arriving travellers will be required to complete a health declaration and must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

Limited commercial flight options are available to exit the country.

Ethiopia

All land borders for Ethiopia are closed.

It is still possible to enter the country via commercial passenger flights; however, arrivals will be subject to a 14-day quarantine in a designated hotel which will need to be paid for by the passenger.

It is possible to depart the country via commercial passenger flights; however, these are limited. Departing passengers are subject to health screening.

Falkland Islands

All passengers arriving by air into the Falkland Islands will be required to self-isolate for 14-days if they develop symptoms.

Cruise passengers will be permitted entry provided that everyone on board has been on board for at least 10 days and no-one is suffering from symptoms of coronavirus.

Fiji

Nada Airport within Fiji is closed to all scheduled flights until further notice.

Finland

Entry into Finland will not be permitted to non-resident foreign nationals or those travelling for essential or compassionate reasons. Passengers travelling through Finland will be permitted to do so provided entry into their final destination is verified and they have proof of travel.

Commercial flight options out of Finland are still available although these are limited.

France

The French Government announced on 16^th March that the EU would suspend travel between the EU and non-European countries for an initial period of 30 days until 15^th April.

Reinforced border controls have been in place with the UK since March 20^th. UK and EU citizens can enter France if they normally reside there but must complete an “attestation” confirming that travel is necessary.

Border checks are also in place with Italy, Spain, and Germany.

Commercial flight options remain available to exit France; however, these are limited.

Gabon

All international passenger flights in and out of Gabon are suspended until further notice. Land and sea border are also closed.

Georgia

All foreign nationals will not be permitted entry to Georgia, this includes those who hold residence permits. Arrivals will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine. Land borders are closed.

Limited commercial flight options are available to exit the country.

Germany

Entry to Germany will be denied unless passengers can prove a valid reason for entry or are border workers commuting between Germany and neighbouring countries.

Passengers from the EU and the UK may still be able to enter Germany in order to transit to their destination, but proof of onward travel is required.

Commercial flights out of Germany are possible but limited.

Ghana

All international passenger flights in and out of Ghana are suspended until further notice.

Gibraltar

All travellers arriving by land, air or sea from an at-risk country must report to a Borders and Coastguard Officer or an Officer of the Gibraltar Port Authority.

Greece

Commercial flights in both directions are suspended between Greece, the UK, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany and The Netherlands.

All passengers arriving in Greece from abroad are required to self-isolate for 14 days.

Commercial flights to exit Greece are available, however, are limited and passengers may need to travel indirectly.

Grenada

It is not possible to enter or exit Grenada, the airport was closed on 23^rd March until further notice.

Non-Grenadian passengers and crews travelling on yachts are not permitted to enter Grenada.

Guatemala

All land, air and sea borders in Guatemala are closed until further notice.

Guyana

All flights from Cheddi Jagan International Airport at Timehri and the Eugene Correia Airport at Ogle are cancelled until further notice.

Some limited repatriation flights remain available to depart Guyana.

Haiti

All ports, airports and borders are closed for travellers entering the country. The closure does not apply to Haitian citizens, permanent residents, their immediate family or diplomats.

Limited means of departing Haiti are available due to airline cancellations of flights departing the country and airport closures.

Honduras

All land, sea and maritime borders are closed to passengers which means entry is not possible to Honduras at present.

Exit may still be possible by commercial means, but options are extremely limited.

Hong Kong

Travellers arriving into Hong Kong from overseas countries or those who have been overseas within the last 14-days and are not residents will be denied entry. Hong Kong residents must take a compulsory test for Covid-19.  

Hong Kong residents are required to quarantine for 14 days. Quarantine can take place at a residential address however; arrivals may be placed in a government quarantine centre.

Transit services through Hong Kong International Airport are currently suspended.

It is possible to exit the country via commercial passenger flights; however, options are extremely limited and may be suspended at any stage.

Hungary

Entry will only be permitted to citizens of Hungary and EU nationals who hold a permanent residence card or Registration Certificate and Address Card. All passengers entering the country will be subject to a medical examination to test for symptoms of COVID-19. If symptoms are present, travellers will be assigned to a quarantine centre for 14 days, if symptoms are not present, travellers will be required to self-isolate for 14-days.

It is still possible to exit the country via commercial passenger flights from Budapest Airport.

Iceland

All Icelandic nationals and residents returning from any country abroad must self-isolate for 14 days following arrival, this does not apply to non-residents. Entry will not be permitted to non-EU/EEA nationals unless they have immigration status in Iceland or another Schengen state or are transiting to another country. This restriction applies until 17^th April at which stage it will be reviewed.

It is possible to leave the country; however, options are extremely limited.

India

All international and domestic commercial passenger flights are currently suspended until 14^th April. Land border with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and Nepal in East and North East India are closed.

Some states require foreign nationals to complete a health declaration if already in India.

Some special repatriation flights are operating to exit the country; however, these are limited and have eligibility requirements in place.

Indonesia

All foreign nationals will not be permitted entry to enter or transit through Indonesia unless:

• they hold limited or permanent stay permits
• they hold a diplomatic or working visa
• they hold a diplomatic or business stay permit
• they are working on medical and food assistance
• they are transportation crew (land, sea or air)
• they are working on a national strategic project

Travellers that meet the above exclusions must hold a health certificate that states the traveller is COVID-19 free, must not have been in an area affected by COVID-19 within the last 14 days and must provide a personal statement stating they are willing to be quarantined for up to 14-days.

Flights are currently suspended between Indonesia and mainland China.

Commercial flight routes to enter the country are still available, however, options are limited and may be withdrawn at any stage.

Iraq

All flights in and out of Iraq are suspended until further notice.

Ireland

All arriving travellers into Ireland must self-isolate for 14-days on arrival unless travelling from Northern Ireland or are an essential supply chain worker.

All non-essential travel to another country from Ireland is advised against, however, commercial flight options are available to exit the country.

Israel

Entry will not be permitted to foreign nationals unless they are citizens or residents of Israel.

It is possible to exit the country via commercial means; however, flights are limited and may be suspended at short notice.

Italy

Entry to Italy will only be permitted for emergency purposes only. All arriving travellers will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.

Only one airport per region will remain open. Rome Ciampino closed for commercial flights on 13th March. Terminal 1 in Rome Fiumicino airport closed on 17th March. A

Train services for domestic and international travel are operating reduced services. Some cross-border bus services are not available.

It is possible to exit the country via commercial passenger flights; however, services may be reduced throughout April.

Jamaica

Entry will only be permitted to Jamaican citizens, their children or spouses and permanent residents who left Jamaica prior to 20^th March. All travellers entering the country on or after 18^th March from UK, Canada, USA, China, Italy, South Korea, Iran, Singapore, Spain, France or Germany must self-isolate for 21 days.

Commercial travel options are available to exit Jamaica; however, options are limited.

Japan

Entry to Japan will not be permitted to any non-Japanese nationals who have been to the following countries in the last 14 days: Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Viet Nam, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Dominica, Ecuador, Panama, Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican, Bahrain, Iran, Israel, Turkey, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Mauritius, Morocco.

All arriving passengers must partake in a coronavirus screening test and must self-isolate for 14 days.

Some commercial flight options are available to exit the country; however, options are limited and may be reduced or suspended throughout April.

Jordan

All commercial flights in and out of Jordan are currently suspended. All land and sea borders are closed. These restrictions will remain in place until at least 27^th April.

Kazakhstan

Entry into Kazakhstan will not be permitted to most foreign nationals. Those who are permitted entry will be subject to a 24-hour quarantine whilst they are tested for COVID-19 and health monitoring following arrival which may include being quarantined in a hospital for up to 14-days.

Options to exit the country are extremely limited.

Kenya

All international flights to and from Kenya are suspended until 6^th May.

Kiribati

All travellers entering Kiribati who are arriving from or have been in coronavirus affected countries within the last 14 days will be denied entry.

Some commercial flight options are available, however, are limited and may be suspended or restricted.

Kuwait

There are no available commercial flights into or out of Kuwait. Land borders with Iraq and Saudi Arabia are closed.

Some special repatriation flights may become available; however, this will depend on your destination.

Kyrgyzstan

All foreign nationals are banned from entering Kyrgyzstan including permanent residents. All arriving citizens will be subject to a 3-day quarantine in a state facility, if symptoms are not shown after 3 days, they will be allowed to self-isolate at home for 14 days.

There are no commercial flight options to exit the country. Flights are not expected to resume until May.

Laos

All passengers arriving into Laos from coronavirus affected countries will be required to self-isolate for 14-days on arrival. Any travellers arriving from affected countries who display symptoms will be hospitalised and tested.

Commercial flight options out of Laos are extremely limited and may be suspended at any stage.

Latvia

All international inbound and outbound travel through airports, ports, bus and rail are suspended until further notice. Land borders are also restricted.

There are no commercial flights out of Latvia, exit may be possible at some designated land border crossing points, however, onward travel will not be guaranteed.

Lebanon

All borders options are closed into and out of Lebanon until 12^th April.

Some special repatriation flight options are available; however, these are limited, and restrictions will apply.

Libya

All air, land and maritime borders into and out of Libya are closed until further notice.

Lithuania

All commercial flights in and out of Lithuania are suspended until further notice.

Limited ferry services are available to exit the country.

Luxembourg

All flights to and from Luxembourg Airport are suspended until further notice.

Macau

Travellers will be denied entry if:

• they are not a resident of Macao, Hong Kong, Taiwan or Mainland China
• they are a resident of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China and have travelled overseas in the last 14 days.

Travellers will be subject to 14 days of medical surveillance in a designated centre if:

• they are a resident of Hong Kong, Taiwan or mainland china and have visited Hong Kong or Taiwan in the last 14 days
• they are a Macao resident who has been overseas or to Hong Kong or Taiwan in the last 14 days.

It is possible to exit the country via commercial flights; however, indirect travel may be required and restrictions within the transiting country may make travel difficult.

Malawi

International flights into and out of the country are suspended until further notice. Land borders remain open for Malawi nationals and residents.

All arriving travellers will be screened on arrival for symptoms. If symptoms are present, arrivals will be moved to a treatment facility. All arrivals must self-isolate for 14 days.

Malaysia

Foreign nationals will be denied entry into Malaysia unless:

• they hold a diplomatic passport
• they have Permanent Residence
• they are an expatriate in an essential service

All arrivals will be subject to a 14-day quarantine in a government assigned centre.

There are currently no restrictions on foreign nationals leaving Malaysia. Transfers through Kuala Lumpur International Airport are not prohibited, however, transfers through terminals KLIA1 and KLIA2 will not be permitted unless they:

• hold a diplomatic passport
• have Permanent Residence
• are an expatriate in an essential service

Some commercial flight options to leave Malaysia are available, however, most airlines have stopped operating flights and further cancellations are expected.

Maldives

Entry to the Maldives will not be permitted to those who are travelling from, through or who have a travel history in the following countries will not be permitted entry: China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Bangladesh, Germany, Spain, France, Malaysia, UK, Sri Lanka. This restriction will not apply to Maldivians foreign nationals with residency and and spouses of Maldivians who are foreign nationals.

Those who are permitted entry will be placed into quarantine on arrival.

Flight options out of the Maldives are not operating as normal due to airline cancellations. Some options may become available in late April.

Malta

All incoming flights into Malta were suspended on 20^th March until further notice. All ferry services are also suspended.

Some limited commercial passenger flight options remain available to exit Malta.

Mauritius

All commercial passenger flights to and from Mauritius are currently suspended until further notice.

Mexico

The land border between the U.S. and Mexico is closed for non-essential travel until 20^th April.

Commercial international and domestic passenger flights are in and out of the country available; however, checks should be made individual airlines as some are imposing their own restrictions.

Mongolia

Entry into Mongolia will not be permitted to all foreign nationals. All international air and rails routes are suspended until 30^th April.

Morocco

All commercial flights to or from Morocco are suspended. Ferry links between Morocco and Spain and Gibraltar are also suspended.

Myanmar

All commercial flight options in and out of Myanmar are currently suspended until further notice. All land borders are also closed.

Nepal

All international inbound and outbound commercial flights to and from Nepal are suspended until 15^th April. Land borders are also closed to third country nationals.

A limited number of repatriation flights will operate later in April, restrictions will apply.

Netherlands

Entry will into Netherlands not be permitted for non-essential travel unless the passenger is:

• an EU citizen (including UK nationals) or family member of an EU citizen
• a national of Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or a family member of a national from one of these countries
• a residence card or a residence permit holder
• a holder of a long-stay visa

It is still possible to depart the Netherlands; however, normal flight services are reduced.

New Zealand

Entry for most foreign travellers is not permitted, however, you can still enter New Zealand if:

• you are a New Zealand Citizen
• you are a permanent resident
• you are a resident with valid travel conditions
• you are travelling with and are a partner/spouse, legal guardian or a dependent child under the age of 24 to any of the above

All arrivals into New Zealand from any country must undergo quarantine or managed isolation in an approved facility for a minimum of 14 days.

Commercial flights out of New Zealand are available, however, restrictions will apply, and airlines are expected to suspend both inbound and outbound flights.

Nigeria

All inbound and outbound international commercial flights to and from Nigeria are currently suspended until 23^rd April.

Norway

Non-residents are not permitted to enter Norway. Transit through Norwegian airports is currently permitted for non-residents if their final destination is not within Norway.

Options to depart the country are extremely limited.

Oman

All international inbound and outbound flights are suspended to and from Oman. All land borders are closed.

Pakistan

All normal inbound and outbound international flights are suspended until 11^th April. Land borders with Iran, Afghanistan and India are closed.

A limited number of repatriation flights from Pakistan will be available in April; however, these are limited, and restrictions will apply.

Panama

Entry into Panama will not be permitted unless travellers are a national or resident of Panama. All arrivals must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

There are extremely limited outbound flight options to exit the country.

Papua New Guinea

Entry into Papua New Guinea will not be permitted unless the visitor is a health worker, member of flight crew, military personnel or holds special written permission. All arrivals must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. Additionally, travellers who have travelled to mainland China, a country in the European Union, Iran, South Korea, the United Kingdom or the United States of America must complete a 14-day quarantine outside of the country before they will be permitted entry.

It is extremely difficult to exit the country as Australia will only allow permission to transit through the country under certain conditions.

Paraguay

All inbound and outbound passenger flights to and from Paraguay are suspended until 19^th April.

Peru

All borders in Peru are currently closed.

Flights from and to Europe or Asia are temporarily banned until for 30 days from 16^th March until 15^th April. This ban may be extended.

Poland

All international flight and rail services to enter or exit Poland are suspended until 11^th April.

It is possible to exit Poland via road on land border, however, restrictions with neighbouring countries may make this difficult.

Portugal

All airports within Portugal are closed to passenger traffic from 9^th April until 13^th April.

Qatar

Entry to Qatar will not be permitted to international passengers including those who hold a residence permit. Passengers who are transiting to another destination will still be able to transfer through the country.

There are limited means of exiting the country via commercial passenger flights, however, services are limited, and further cancellations are expected.

Romania

Entry to Romania will not be permitted into Romania for all non-Romanians unless travellers are nationals from the UK, EU or EEA countries or Switzerland. Family members of citizens and residents will also be permitted entry. Other exemptions from this restriction are in place for:

• holders of long stay visas or resident permits
• diplomatic and consular staff
• military personnel or those providing humanitarian aid
• passengers in transit
• passengers travelling for urgent medical or family reasons

All arriving travellers will either be required to self-isolate or subject institutional quarantine for 14 days depending on their country of origin.

Some commercial flight options to exit Romania are available, however, options are limited.

Russia

Until 1^st May entry to Russia for all foreign nationals will not be permitted entry unless:

• they hold permanent residency In Russia
• are a member of a diplomatic mission

All arrivals into the country will be tested at the airport for COVID-19 and must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

Commercial flight options to exit the country are not currently available.

Rwanda

All flights to and from Kigali International Airport are currently suspended until 19^th April. All borders have also been closed unless you are a returning Rwandan citizen or legal resident.

All arrivals within Rwanda will be screened for COVID-19 and will be subject to a 14-day quarantine within a healthcare facility.

St Kitts and Nevis

All borders into St Kitts and Nevis are closed to all incoming and outgoing flights and vessels.

St Lucia

All borders to St Lucia are closed.  All commercial flights both to and from St Lucia are currently suspended.

Samoa

All international air travel from and to Samoa is suspended until further notice. International cruise ships are not permitted to enter.

Saudi Arabia

All international flights and into and out of Saudi Arabia are suspended until further notice. International sea routes are also suspended.

Singapore

Entry into Singapore will not be permitted to any short-term visitor. Transit through Singapore is not permitted.

Reduced flight services are available to exit the country.

Slovakia

Airports at Bratislava, Kosice and Poprad are closed to international passenger flights. Entry is permitted for nationals and foreign nationals with a resident permit at land borders. All travellers from abroad must pre-register with Slovak authorities and enter quarantine at a government facility on arrival.

It is possible to exit Slovakia, however, due to the closure of international airports, passengers will need to exit by road.

Slovenia

All scheduled flights to and from Slovenia are suspended until at least 13^th April.

Solomon Islands

All international flights in and out of the Solomon Islands are suspended until further notice.

South Africa

South Africa has closed its airspace to commercial airlines until 16^th April with the exclusion of some special repatriation flights throughout April.

South Korea

All travellers arriving in South Korea will be subject to a 14-day quarantine at either their own residence or a government arranged facility.

Foreign nationals who have been in the Hubei province in China within the last 14 days will be denied entry.

It is possible to leave the country via commercial flights; however, flight suspensions are expected throughout April.

Spain

Entry to Spain will not be permitted to foreign nationals who are not citizens or residents of Spain.

It is possible to depart Spain via commercial flights; however, airlines are offering reduced services and flights are subject to change or cancellation.

Sri Lanka

All inbound flights to Sri Lanka are suspended until further notice.

Outbound flights to exit the county are available, however, services are heavily reduced. Sri Lankan airlines has cancelled all flights until 21^st April.

St Vincent and the Grenadines

All international flights to and from St Vincent and the Grenadines are suspended until further notice. A flight to Barbados was operating daily, however, this service was suspended on 4^th April until 28^th April and will be reviewed after this date.

It is not possible to exit the country via commercial means.

Suriname

All flights to and from Suriname are suspended until further notice. Land and ferry crossings are also closed.

Sweden

Entry will not be permitted to travellers from countries outside of the EEA and Switzerland unless travel is essential. This restriction is in place until 18^th April.

There are limited commercial flight options out of Sweden, indirect travel may be required depending on your destination.

Switzerland

Entry to Switzerland from all countries (excluding Liechtenstein) will only be permitted to:

• Swiss & Liechtenstein citizens
• resident permit holders
• cross-border workers
• travellers transiting with an onward ticket booked for the same day

It is still possible to depart the country via commercial passenger flight, options are limited.

Taiwan

Entry will only be permitted to foreign nationals who hold a permanent or alien resident certificate. Entry to air passengers transiting Taiwan is prohibited until 30^th April.

It is possible to exit Taiwan via commercial flight; however, options are limited.

Tanzania

Airports remain open, however, arrivals from high-risk countries will be subject to mandatory quarantine at a government approved facility.

It is possible to exit Tanzania via commercial flight; however, normal services are reduced.

Thailand

All inbound passenger flights to Thailand are suspended until 18^th April.

It is possible to exit Thailand via commercial flights; however, options becoming increasing limited.

The Philippines

Foreign nationals are currently unable to receive a visa on arrival or to enter the Philippines due to a restriction on entry of Foreign Nationals which is in place until further notice.

You can still enter the Philippines if:

• you are a foreign spouse or child travelling with a Filipino national
• you are a member of an international organisation accredited to the Philippines

Commercial flights out of the country are available, however, services are heavily disrupted. Limited repatriation flights are also available.

Tonga

All borders to Tonga are closed for entry to foreign nationals. All international flights to Tonga will not be permitted until 18^th April.

Outbound flights may still be possible; however, travels should contact their airline or tour operator.

Trinidad and Tobago

All borders for Trinidad and Tobago closed to international inbound and outbound flights until further notice. Non-nationals will not be permitted entry.

Tunisia

All commercial flights to and from Tunisia were suspended on 17^th March until further notice. Maritime borders are also closed.

Turkey

Entry to Turkey will not be permitted unless travellers are Turkish Nationals or residents of Turkey.

All outbound flights from Turkey are suspended until further notice.

Turks and Caicos Islands

All borders to Turks and Caicos are closed until 14^th April. Entry will only be permitted for residents and returning residents who will be subject to health checks and quarantine procedures.

United Kingdom

All but essential travel from the UK has been advised against since the 17^th March until further notice. All British travellers are advised to return home while they still can.

It is still possible to enter and exit the country, however, flight options are limited, and self-isolation guidelines must be followed.

United Arab Emirates

All inbound and outbound flights to and from the United Arab Emirates are currently suspended until further notice.

Uruguay

Entry to Uruguay will only be permitted to Uruguayan nationals and legal residents.

There are limited options to depart the country via commercial means, however, most flights have stopped. It may be possible to fly indirectly depending on your destination.

USA

Travel from the UK, Ireland is suspended. All travel from countries within the Schengen Area is restricted. The Schengen area includes Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

The ban from all countries listed above does not apply to American citizens or their family members.

Passengers who have been in China or Iran within the last 14 days are not allowed to enter the country, however, U.S. citizens who have been in China within the last 14 days are allowed to enter upon completion of health screening. Those who are allowed to enter may be required to self-isolate.

A ban was announced between the US-Mexico border on March 20^th.

It is possible to exit the USA via commercial flights; however, services are limited.

Uzbekistan

All commercial flights in and out of Uzbekistan are suspended until further notice.

Vanuatu

All international flights in and out of Vanuatu are suspended until further notice.

Vietnam

Entry to Vietnam for all foreigners is prohibited until further notice.

There are some remaining passenger flights out of Vietnam, special repatriation flights to some destinations are also available.

Zambia

Entry to Zambia is possible, however, strict screen procedures are in place. Arriving passengers with symptoms will be quarantined in a government health facility. All other passengers must self-isolate for 14 days following arrival.

Limited commercial flights are available to exit Zambia.

Zimbabwe

All commercial flights to and from Zimbabwe have been suspended by commercial airlines.
