New Zealand ranked 2^nd for physical and mental well-being, and 4^th for quality of life and fulfilment in the 2019 HSBC Expat Explorer Survey. New Zealand also came 12^th in a 2018 global liveability index, which ranked happiness factors in a range of different countries. 6. Climate

The south of New Zealand (including Queenstown, Christchurch, and Marlborough) has a mostly temperate climate. The climate in the north (including Wellington and Auckland) is more sub-tropical.
